Carol L. Graham

Carol L. Graham, age 75, of Richmond, died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Reid Hospital Hospice after a long illness. Born May 27, 1936 in Richmond, to Morris and Thelma Cruze Deubner, she was a resident of Richmond most of her life. Carol was a 1954 graduate of Richmond High School and a 1958 graduate of Ball State University. She was a teacher at Cambridge City, Richmond, and Northeastern Schools. Carol worked for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, was a greeter at Meijer, and was a volunteer at Reid Hospital. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary, past President and Treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary, and past President of the A.J. Foyt International Fan Club, which she helped form. She was a volleyball and basketball official for 23 years. Carol loved auto racing, traveling, and her family. Survivors include her husband, Robert C. Graham, to whom she was married October 11, 2002; daughter, Cheryl R. (David B.) Finch of Richmond; son, Randall P. 'Randy' (Cathy Runyon) Gibson of California; grandchildren, Kristina (Daniel) Baker of Richmond, Rachel (Tory Davis) Finch of Richmond, and Cosey Gibson of California; great-grandchildren, Emma Finch, Haedyn Baker, and Kiersten Baker; step-children, Larry Graham of Greenfield, Ind., Kristy (James) Green of Lafayette, Ind., and Kathy (Will) Beam of New York; step-grandchildren, Joseph, Alexa, Gullian, Olivia, and Alivia; sisters, Beverly (Bob) Wadsworth of Ohio, Jeanine (Kenny) Smith of Speedway, Indiana, and Lavone Meinsen of Richmond; mother-in-law, Helen Graham; sisters-in-law, Sally (Ron) Ellis of Richmond and Pamela (Bill) Binnig of Florida; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul Robert Gibson; brother Donald Lee Deubner; and brothers-in-law, Bill Meinsen and Jim Hendrix. Visitation for Carol L. Graham will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at St. John Lutheran Church, 501 South 7th Street, Richmond with Rev. Newell Nelson and Rev. James Culver officiating.
