Diane Sue Bennett DeSonie

RICHMOND, Ind. – Diane Sue Bennett DeSonie, age 69, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born August 24, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, to E. Lorraine Ketron Faucett. Later she was blessed with Robert G. Faucett as a dad. Diane lived in this community all her life. She was a proud member of the class of 1973 Richmond High School in Richmond, IN. Diane stayed home with her babies when they were young. Later she worked in the Richmond Community School system as a secretary, positioned at many different buildings during her career. Diane was really remembered for her amazing personality, her ability to cheer someone up in any situation, and her ability to build an amazing community with any group of people. She loved celebrating everyone’s special occasions with a card and helping to plan multiple class reunions at a time. Survivors include her husband, Derek DeSonie, of Richmond; son, Chad (Rachel) DeSonie of Richmond; daughter, Amy (Jon) Reid of Park View, IA; grandchildren, Ethan DeSonie, Lillian Reid, and Lucas Reid; brother, Keith (Tammy) Bennett of Hampshire, Illinois; sister, Kelley Faucett-Malone; nephews, Darin (Melanie Honeycutt) Pope, Brad (Arin) Bennett, and Chad Williamson; nieces, Jessica (Mark) Gabbard, Ashley (Alyssa) Bennett, Brianna Linkous, Angie Ballard, Deann Faucett and Amber, Sasha, and Miranda Crawley; great-nephews, Jordan & Gavin Pope and Owen & Leo Bennett; great-nieces, Alyssa Stamper, Emmaline & Dori Gabbard, and Ava Lewis; as well as countless cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her mom, E. Lorraine Faucett, who died July 25, 2018; dad, Robert Gene Faucett, who died November 8, 2009; brother, Randy Faucett, who died October 27, 2020; cousin, Cheryl Vosmeier; great-niece Brooklynn Pope; grandparents; aunts; and uncles. Visitation for Diane S. DeSonie will be from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday December 8, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be at Earlham Cemetery. Given Diane’s love of greeting cards we would like to encourage you to get one for her and bring it to the funeral home. We will plan for her to be buried with these cards as a great final send off.
