Barbara Louise Stroh

RICHMOND, Ind. – Barbara Louise Stroh, age 78, of Richmond, died Saturday, September 10, 2011, at her home after a lengthy illness. Born December 20, 1932, in Winchester, to Beulah Lemon and Rennie Shaneyfelt, she was a long-time resident of Centerville. She worked as an inspector and packer at Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. and Nettle Creek Industries. Barbara was very active in several area churches over the years. At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Centerville, where she was involved in starting the clothing ministry. Barbara loved the Lord and going to church, and she was always concerned for the less fortunate. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend to many. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Ankrom) Abdelaziz of St. Cloud, Florida; two sons, Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) Mark S. Stroh currently stationed in Afghanistan and Thomas J. Stroh of Centerville; five grandchildren, Lora Holloman of North Carolina, Holly Johnson of Florida, Tyler Stroh of Fountain City, Misty Stroh of Centerville, and Elijah Stroh of Virginia; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Phil Shaneyfelt of Ridgeville and Carl (David) Shaw of Muncie; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including long-time best friend, Thelma Warner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald Stroh, who died on October 30, 2009; three sisters, Carolyn, Mona-Jean, and Martha; and brother, William. Visitation for Barbara L. Stroh will be from 2 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1004 North A Street, Richmond, with Rev. David E. Leffel officiating. Entombment will be in Earlham Memorial Mausoleum.
