Barbara Frances Taylor

RICHMOND, Ind. - Barbara Frances Conn Taylor, age 85, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, February 19, 2021, at her daughter's home in Franklin, Indiana. Born August 4, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, to W. Chester and Frances Stalker Conn, Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Atherton High School in Louisville. She earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1957 and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Louisville in 1959. Barbara and her family relocated to Richmond in 1969. She retired from Reid Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a medical social worker from 1974-1999. After her retirement, Barbara worked at the Richmond Kidney and Dialysis Center for several years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she previously served as a program coordinator and was a facilitator for ongoing GriefShare programs. Barbara was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Collegiate Club, and various social and church groups. She enjoyed reading, traveling, listening to classical music, and attending musical performances and was always looking for ways to help someone in need. Barbara loved spending time with her family and dear friends. Survivors include her daughters, Fran (Bill) Moore of Holton, Indiana, Nancy (Ron) Ellis of Franklin, and Mary Beth (Bob) Eck of Lewis Center, Ohio; grandchildren, Alyssa (Kyle) Buchanan, Tyler (Lauren) Habart, and Kaitlyn Moore, all of Palm Bay, Florida, Will Brewer of Franklin, and Anna and Lucy Eck, both of Lewis Center; great-grandchildren, Kai Buchanan and Kane Habart; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, C. William Taylor Jr., who died December 1, 2003, and parents. Visitation for Barbara Frances Conn Taylor will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church, 100 North 10th Street, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the church with The Rev. Dr. Ronald Naylor officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask and practice social distancing at the church. Private entombment will be in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum.
