Carl Scott Smith

LOSANTVILLE, Ind. – Carl Scott Smith, age 58, of Losantville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Born January 18, 1965, in Richmond, Indiana, to Coleman and Judith Ann Johnston Smith, Scott lived in this area most of his life. He was a graduate of Centerville High School and worked in manufacturing. Scott was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was on Town Council as Treasurer, of Blountsville, Indiana. He enjoyed riding his Harley, watching football, playing guitar, talking with friends, and helping others (especially family). Scott was an avid fan of The University of Alabama and Indianapolis Colts football teams. He valued many friends and considered them family. Scott will be remembered as a kind soul, free spirit, wonderful husband and provider, special father and grandfather, and caring son to his parents. He could always be counted on and was a special brother to his siblings. The community of Blountsville was very special to Scott and his family. Survivors include his parents; wife, and soul mate of 32 years, Mary Ann Smith; daughter, Carly Nicole Smith of Muncie, Indiana; son, Jacob Scott (Sidney) Smith, of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Waylon and Sophie; sisters, Mona (Danny) Abrams, of Richmond, Indiana, and Kara (Craig) Brown, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; brother, Coleman E. (Reba) Smith Jr. of Portland, Indiana, and Jeff (Denise) Smith, of Middletown, Ohio; special nephew, Eric (Krescentia) Brown; special friends, Brian Steed, Tony Franklin, Brian Whalen, Don Cope, Curt Johnson, Mitch Connor, Jeff Price and Jimmy Favorite; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by special friends, Danny Miller, Mike Steed, and Howard Randolph. Scott would want everyone to remember him with a smile and a fond memory you shared. Visitation for Carl Scott Smith will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Rd. West, Richmond, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Coleman Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
