Carole Whited

RICHMOND, Ind. - Carole Whited took her angelic voice to heaven on November 2, 2012, at Methodist Hospital. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was raised by her parents, Thelma and Christian Vogt, after losing her mother at birth. She and her husband of 55 years, Brent, moved to Richmond in 1967. Carole was a longtime vocalist and musician who played with numerous bands in Ohio and Indiana. She sang the blues, she rocked the 50's and 60's, she crooned the country, and she swayed with the big band sound. She brought life to any stage with her magnetic personality. Carole could go from sequin and heels to jeans and boots and live life to the fullest. She was a racing fanatic, going side by side with her husband to various tracks and continued the tradition with her sons and grandsons. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all their hobbies. Carole gave so much of her heart to everyone, she never met a stranger. She was very active in her clubs and was past chaplain for the Ladies Auxiliary at the Marine Corps League, and member of the Moose Lodge, V.F.W., Druids, DARF (Dayton Auto Racing Fan Club), and HARF (Hoosier Auto Racing Fan Club). She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She and Brent volunteered many years providing food for those in need at the holidays. Cherishing her memory will be her husband, Brent; three sons, Brent R., Brad (Mary), and Bryan (Joyce) Whited, all of Richmond; six grandchildren, Ian, Brandon, Matthew, Jessica, Adam, and Jeremy; and nine great-grandchildren, AJ, Isaiah, Braden, Brenton, Braxten, Brycen, Eli, Grayson, and Oliver. She also leaves her brother-in-law, Bruce (Rose) Whited of Piqua, Ohio, and sister-in-law, Peg (Claire) Miller of Centerville, Ohio. Nieces, nephews, and lots of friends will also cherish her memories. Welcoming her to heaven's gates will be her daughter, Jani Lynn (2006); daughter-in-law, Sue Whited (1995); parents, Thelma and Christian Vogt; and her birth parents. Visitation for Carole Whited will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Meckley officiating. Burial will be in Piqua, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
