Charles "Glen" Hunt Jr.

Ind. – Charles “Glen” Glendon Hunt Jr., age 95, of Centerville, Indiana, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Independence Village, Fishers, Indiana. Born May 12, 1927, in Richmond, Indiana, to Charles Glendon Sr. and Dorothy LeMaster (Locke) Hunt, Glen was a resident of this community for several years. He was a 1945 graduate of Richmond High School. Leaving graduation ceremonies to join the United States Navy, his mother accepted his HS diploma. Glen married Phyllis Imogene Tipple on June 24, 1945. His mother preceded him in death on February 8, 1989. He retired from REMSCO, after 35 ½ years as a salesman. Glen was also self employed as a photographer from 1962 to 1992. He later married Barbara J. (Asbury) Eadler on February 14, 1992. She died on February 27, 2008. Glen served on the Centerville, IN town council from 1985 to 1992. He lived in both Centerville, IN & North Ft. Myers, FL. until Barb’s death. Shortly thereafter, he moved into an assisted living apartment. He loved the hot weather of Florida. Glen was a member of the Post 1108 (VFW) Veteran’s of Foreign War, and the Hunt-Troust Post 287 of the American Legion. Glen loved to fish. He will always be remembered fondly for his fishing stories. Glen was always eager to pass on his knowledge of rods, reels, baits, boats, and the various fish species. This spring he announced he wanted to move back to Indiana because he wanted to be near his kids. Glen wasn’t sure how many more birthdays he had left, so he said goodbye to Florida. He was moving into another assisted living apartment in Indianapolis. Glen was staying in a courtesy apartment waiting for his household goods to be delivered on May 8th. He passed away on May 7th. His 96th birthday would have been May 12th. So, he got his last wish. Survivors include his four children, Charles Glendon (Kathleen) Hunt III, Nancy Lee (Steven) Keithley, Elaine Kay Showalter, and Cheryl Sue Phelps. There are nine grandchildren, Andy (Lynne) Hunt, Greg Hunt, Steven Keithley, Joe (Mo) Keithley, Tracy Keithley, David (Shanon) Keithley, Sarah (Ryan) Walker, Suzie (Troy) Huffman, Tim (Regina) Phelps; Nine great grandchildren, Chandler, Arizona (Isaac), Isaiah, Riley, Henry, Josie, Alyssa, Mason, and Brady; one great-great grandson, River. Visitation for Charles Glendon Hunt Jr. will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., Centerville, Indiana. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Mills Funeral Home, with Rev. Bud Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery with military honors being provided by Wayne County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P. O.
