Charlotte Jane Roehler

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Charlotte Jane Roehler, beloved wife, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 87, of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at her home. Born April 3, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Joseph Sr. and Clare Newhart Taylor of Ambridge, Pa., she lived in this area most of her life. Charlotte was formerly the Assistant Center Township Assessor. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, the Richmond Women’s Club where she had served as vice president and the Petal and Stem Club. Charlotte will be remembered by many for the 15 years of teaching swimming at the family pool along with the countless hours spent working in her flower gardens or decorating her home for every holiday and season. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 69 years, Frederick George Roehler of Centerville; three sons, Frederick G. Roehler II of Lancaster, Calif., Randall D. Roehler of Indianapolis, Ind., Cory S. Roehler (Ginny) of Centerville; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Roehler (Ronald) of California; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Pytlinski (Mike) of California, Monica Johnson (Jeff) of Tennessee, Stephen Roehler of New York, Heidi Kasperbaurer (Eric) of Colorado, Kimberly Haugh (Kevin) of California, Kirsten Roehler of California, Shawn Roehler of Colorado, Dustin Roehler of Indiana, Kyle Roehler, USA, and Tyler Roehler of Indiana; seven great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Douglas Haugh, Emily and Ryan Johnson, Sydney and Marne Kasperbaurer, and Andy Pytlinski; nieces; nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Stephen Roehler; grandson, Douglas Roehler; sister, Ruth Brylinsky; and brothers, Robert, James, Joseph Jr. and Carl Taylor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral service for Charlotte Jane Roehler will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011, in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum with Rev. John Wilson officiating.
