Darlton D. "Skeeter" Webb

RICHMOND, Ind. – Darlton D. “Skeeter” Webb, age 78, of Richmond, died Friday, October 7, 2011, at Reid Hospital. Born January 14, 1933, in Richmond, to Stanley and Grace Caskey Webb, he graduated from Brownsville High School. Skeeter served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for Richmond Gear Works for 18 years, for Doug Nash for three years, NATCO, and Perfect Circle. Skeeter retired in 1995 from Williamson Medical Center, Franklin, Tennessee where he worked in security. He moved back to Richmond in July of 2011, from BonAqua, Tennessee. Skeeter was a member of the VFW Post 1108, Whitewater Valley Amateur Radio Club, and former member of the Lions Club of Richmond. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a very congenial man. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Raellen House Webb, to whom he was married on December 16, 1955; two children, Daryll “Buster” (Lilah) Webb of Williamsburg and Ladona Webb of North Manchester, Indiana; two grandchildren, Michael Atkins of Williamsburg and Freida (Kevin) Plyley of Richmond; three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kelvin, and Devin; seven siblings, Evelyn Hessley of Geneva, Ohio, Marion Webb of Richmond, Myron Webb of Kansas, Joyce Gray of Richmond, Norma Day of West Alexandria, Ohio, Patty Smith of Zappa, Texas, and Larry Webb of Cambridge City; step-sister, Phala Harrison; two step-brothers, Danny Dameral and Ricky Dameral; Aunt Mabel Schroeder of Richmond; cousins; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Webb; mother and step-father, Grace and Hubert Watkins; and brother, Herb Webb. Visitation for Darlton D. “Skeeter” Webb will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Public graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Abington Cemetery with Rev. Robert Meckley officiating.
