Donald N. Jackson

RICHMOND, IN– Donald N. Jackson, age 77, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at home. Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Born September 15, 1946, in Richmond, Indiana, to Elmer Grady and Carolyn King Jackson, Donald lived all of his life in this community. He graduated from Richmond High School before joining the United States Army in May of 1966, serving in Okinawa. Don was employed at Hoffco-Comet for 46 years until the company transitioned to Certified Parts Incorporated where he continued service an additional 12 years. Don met the love of his life, Vickie, in 1963, and the two remained friends until marriage July 4, 1970, and were blessed with 3 loving sons. Don was a devoted husband, always carrying a high school photo of Vickie in his wallet. He was a member of Centerville Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed camping, fishing, and time with family. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Vickie D. Hubbard Jackson; sons, Brian (Michelle) Jackson, Shawn (Mandy) Jackson, and Scott (Shannon C.) Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Laughlin; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant granddaughter, Maleigha M. Jackson; brother-in-law, Bill Laughlin; and nephews, David and Terry Laughlin. Graveside services for Donald N. Jackson will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Earlham Cemetery with Pastor Trevor Stanley officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
