Frances Evelina Frame

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Frances Evelina Frame, age 101, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 8, 1909, in Richmond to Frank and Estella Short Skinner, she had lived in this area all of her life. Frances was a 1927 graduate of Winchester High School and a 1930 graduate of Reid Hospital School of Nursing. She used her nursing skills to nurse family, friends and neighbors. She studied music and was a teacher in the Richmond School System and surrounding areas. Mrs. Frame taught piano at Centerville, Richmond and Milton schools and traveled to students’ homes giving private lessons. Later, students came to their farm home on Willow Grove Road, Centerville, for lessons. For approximately 50 years she taught hundreds the joy of music and was the organist for many churches, the last being Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond where she retired at the age of 92. Mrs. Frame was a volunteer as Chaplain Aide at Reid Hospital. Survivors include grandchildren, Angela (Gary) Rodgers of New Castle, Desiree Parks of Centerville, Diana Coka of California, Lawrence Ross Frame of New Castle, Josh (Amy) Golliher, and Abby Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Steve Padgett) Loughmiller, Ryan Loughmiller, Briana Grace Frame, Devon Ross Frame, Jessica McGraw, Jennifer (Brian) Ingle, Jason Stokes, and Jeremy Stokes; great-great-grandchildren, Isabel Rose Padgett, Marianna McGraw, Aiden McGraw and Sylas Ingle. Being an only child she leaves an extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her mother, Estella, and step-father, Clarence Brown; husband, Lawrence A. Frame; daughter, Marilyn Shaw; and son, Mark L. Frame. Visitation for Mrs. Frances E. Frame will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Gramza and Rev. Lester Maples officiating. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery.
