Helen M. McClure

EATON, Ohio – Helen M. McClure, age 95, of Eaton, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at The Greenbriar Nursing Center. Born July 26, 1915, in Cass, Indiana, to John and Alta Sims Smith, she lived most of her life in this area. Helen was a graduate of Alquina High School. She worked as a molder at Belden and farmed with her husband. She was a member of the Concorde United Church of Christ and worked on the Election Board in Jackson Township for 30 years. Helen enjoyed sewing and farming. She will forever be cherished for her unconditional love for her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Joan Nave (Eddie) of Eldorado, Ohio; grandchildren, Don Rusk (Pat) of Lewisburg, Ohio, Debra Quakenbush (William) of Fort Wayne, Ind., Randy Thompson (Patty) of Indianapolis, Ind., James Nave of Eldorado, Ohio, Rusty Nave and Robert Nave (Nancy), both of Eldorado, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Josh, Erin (Don), Beth (David), Robert, Dan, Ryan, Amanda and Lynn; great-great-grandchildren, Brandon, Garrett, Bella, Jordan and Logan; six step-great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Bobby Thompson of Metamora; brothers, Dean Smith (Carolyn) of Atlanta, Ga., and Leon Smith (Helen) of Connersville, Ind.; many nieces; nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Russell McClure who died in 2002; daughter, Janice Thompson; son, Don Rusk Sr.; her parents; sister, Juanita Johnson; and five brothers. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Greenbriar Nursing Center and Reid Hospice for the kindness and care given to Helen. Visitation for Helen M. McClure will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 29 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Foulk officiating. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.
