RICHMOND, Ind. – Janet L. See, age 80, of Richmond, died Monday, August 15, 2016, at Reid Health. Born June 13, 1936, in Richmond, Indiana, to John and Dorothy Torbett Atkins, Janet was a life-long resident of Richmond. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Richmond. Janet was an excellent homemaker. She was dedicated to her family and friends and was always there for those in need. Janet also babysat for many children. She worked alongside her husband in their vegetable garden, canning for many years. They enjoyed sharing and giving from that garden with many. Janet enjoyed watching squirrels and birds feed outside her window and loved to visit the Smokey Mountains. She was a devoted and faithful wife and was everything to her children and family. Survivors include her daughters, Gail (Monty Huddleston) See of Richmond, Janice ‘Susie’ Sullivan of Modoc, Indiana, and Brenda See of Richmond; sons, Ronnie (Vicki) See and David (Nicki) See, both of Richmond; six grandchildren, Susan Phillips, Jonathan Burdsall, Melissa Phillips, Malia See, Nathan See, and Caleb See; six step-grandchildren, Amy, Steve, John, Matt, Karl, and Caylee; nine great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; sister, Katherine Reed of Richmond; nieces, including special nieces, Linda Clark and Luanne Moore; nephews; cousins; many friends; and her loving cat, Tubby. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Johnnie See, who died in 2014; parents; sister, Rosie Berg; and brother, Rankin John ‘Sonny’ Atkins. The family would like to thank Area 9; A&D Agency; special caretaker, Nakaya Leverette; Dr. Tina Reichley and her staff; and Reid Health for the excellent care given to Janet. Visitation for Janet L. See will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Curt Nies and Steve Moore officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
