Jewell E. Harrison

RICHMOND, Ind. – Jewell E. Harrison, age 87, of Richmond, died Monday, September 19, 2016, at Reid Health. Born July 12, 1929, in Richmond, Indiana, to Roland and Hilda Jordan Buroker, Jewell was a life-long resident of Richmond. She was a 1947 graduate of Richmond High School. Jewell was a certified dietitian and worked at many nursing homes throughout the years. She was also a realtor for many years. Jewell was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She was a long-time, active member of Chester Heights United Methodist Church, including the period when the church transitioned to Central United Methodist Church. Jewell was artistic and loved her flowers, gardening, and cooking. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, William Robert ‘Bob’ Harrison; children, Tom (Sandy) Harrison of Richmond, Pam (Russ) Tubesing of Richmond, and Mike (Lily) Harrison of Westfield, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Vicki Harrison (Dave Komula) of Richmond; grandchildren, Angela (Todd) Granthem of Utah, Amanda Harrison of Richmond, Levi (Yoko) Harrison of Canada, Abbey (Aaron) Pettersborg of Utah, Anna (Anton) Miles of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jason (Sarah) Toschlog of Texas, Jeremy (Yolanda) Toschlog of Nashville, Indiana, Matt (Kimi) Harrison of Richmond, Jesse (Missy) Harrison of Richmond, Jonathan (Katie-Lee) Harrison of Kansas, and Billy Harrison of Westfield, Indiana; many great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Gayle (Kate) Buroker of Iowa; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Sterling; son, Mark Harrison; and grandson, Gabriel Harrison. Visitation for Jewell E. Harrison will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. James Truelove officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
