Laura H. Million

RICHMOND, Ind. – Laura H. Million, age 93, of Richmond, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Reid Health. Born July 7, 1923, in Franklin County, Indiana, to Ben and Margaret Meer Handorf, Laura lived in Richmond for most of her life. She retired in 1988 as a cook with the Richmond Community Schools after working there for 16 years. Laura worked at Decca Records and International Harvester. She attended Living Faith Church of God. Laura was a great cook and enjoyed gardening and canning. She raised her first family by herself and her second family as a strong and dedicated example. Survivors include her daughter, Carol A. (Don) Million of Richmond, Indiana; son, Dr. William H. "Bill" (Jalene) Jones of DeWitt, Michigan; stepchildren, Ada (Joseph) Darrah of Centerville, Indiana, Billy Ray (Theresa) Million of Richmond, and Rev. Eugene (Denise) Million of Westfield, Indiana; many grandchildren, including Jaela (Nick) McQuillan of Grand Rapids, Michigan, James (Christine) Jones of Troy, Michigan, Jessica (Brandon) Paddock of Evansville, Indiana, and Sarah (Andy) Van Zee of Indianapolis, Indiana; many great-grandchildren, including Kara Paddock, Carson Paddock, Dock Jones, and Isabella Van Zee; stepbrother, Bill (Betty) Stein of Batesville, Indiana; stepsister-in-law, Henrietta Stein of Batesville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Million, who died in 1990; first husband, William H. Jones, who died in 1963; stepchildren, Margie Sue Moore, Ralph Million, and Louis Edward Million; father; mother and stepfather, Margaret and Anthony Stein; brother, Arthur Handorf; and stepbrother, Joe Stein. Visitation for Laura H. Million will be from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, with Rev. Gene Million and Dr. William Jones officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
