Linda L. Corder

RICHMOND, Ind. – Linda L. Corder was born January 23, 1944, in Richmond, Indiana to Donald L. and Sarah E. Moore. Linda passed away March 4, 2024, from complications of Vascular Dementia. Her children and friend, Cathy, were by her side as she went to her next journey. Linda was a resident at Arbor Trace for several years. Linda was a lifelong resident of Richmond and a graduate of Richmond High School. She had worked for the Indiana State Board of Accounts and the years in the Wayne County Court House in the Auditors Office serving as Chief Deputy and Treasurers Department. Linda retired as the Wayne County Treasurer in December 2012. Linda was a member of the Wayne County Republican Women of Wayne, AIC Board, Board Member of Genesys, volunteered as a Poll Worker for many elections in Wayne County, and volunteered at the Civic Theater. Linda will always be remembered for her true authentic and giving self. Our Mom will be remembered by us for her integrity, values, humor, strength, and such a force for positive thinking, even in the most difficult times. Linda enjoyed water aerobics, reading, and spending time with family, especially walking our beloved Scrappy and working in and around the beloved Big Yellow House on West Main. Music and singing played a huge role in her life and singing was such an impact for her during the last few difficult years. Survivors are her children Brian (Loretta) Mills of Richmond Indiana, Natalie Mills of Frankfurt, Germany, Jennifer (Christian) Mills Denny of Indianapolis, Indiana; granddaughter, Andrea Mills of Tennessee; and many cousins and friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and husband James G. Corder. Visitation for Linda L. Corder will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery.
