Louise Milligan Storm

Louise Milligan Storm passed away on December 15, 2015, in Dallas, Texas, where she had resided for 50 years. Louise was the daughter of Scott W. and Elizabeth T. Milligan and was born in Rockville, Indiana, on December 9, 1929. She moved to Richmond, Indiana, and attended Baxter Elementary School, Dennis Junior High School, and Richmond Senior High School. She graduated in June 1948. Louise was active in the Girl Scouts and the 4-H Club, and she served as president of the Y-Teen Cabinet and secretary of her junior and senior classes. She was a member of the Richmond High School Activities Board, Devil's Den Board, and Block R. The 1948 RHS Pierian Yearbook stated "If she represents the character of RHS, it will be remembered in history". She was a member of the Prom Queen Court, was chosen as Miss Richmond Aviation by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and had the honor of christening the first Trans World Airlines plane to land at the Richmond Municipal Airport, November 6, 1947, inaugurating local commercial air transportation service. Louise entered Purdue University in September 1948 and graduated in June 1952. She was president of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and president of Associated Women Students, which was founded at Purdue in 1931 as a self-governing organization for Purdue women who were on the West Lafayette campus that had 15,000 students with a men to women ratio of 14 to 1 as a result of the GI bill education benefit for World War II veterans. She married J. Howard Storm, a classmate from Western Springs, Illinois. Louise is survived by her daughter, Linda (Randy) Golden; fraternal twins, Scott (Beth) Storm and Carolyn (Bill) Kettenacker; granddaughter, Courtney Golden; grandsons, Trevor (Hana) Golden, Christopher Storm, and Matthew Storm; twin brothers, Dick (Pat) Milligan of Modesto, California, and Tom (Claire Ann) Milligan of Richmond, Indiana; sister-in-law, Helen Storm Tippet; cousin, Gloria Cloud Copeland; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Storm; and brother, Bob Milligan. She faithfully served the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, YMCA, and schools of the Lakewood neighborhood in Dallas.
