Loulette Miller

Loulette Miller, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 23rd after 4 years in assisted living and most recently in hospice care. She was 95 years old. She was the daughter of Paul and Mary Sullivan, both residents of Richmond. Born on February 23, 1929, in Richmond Indiana, Lou spent most of her life in Richmond until 2017 when she moved to Glendale Az. to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Richmond, Indiana was where she built a life filled with love, joy, and community service. She served on behalf of multiple nonprofits including Interfaith Apartments at its conception, 30 years as a volunteer for the Richmond Tourism Bureau, serving veterans through the American Legion Auxiliary, VFD and other organizations, and various roles with her Lutheran Church family. She often made her own greeting cards, purchased socks and other personal items, wrapped the gifts herself and delivered them to veterans so they felt that someone cared. She was the devoted wife of Donald Miller (deceased) for over 55 years and the proud mother of two children: Donna Lou and William (Bill), Don Gross (Husband to Donna and devoted to her care), and Louise Gaudreault (wife to William). Lou adored her three grandchildren, Mary, Amanda and Eric and was thrilled to welcome her great-grandchildren, Hugh, Benny and Penelope. Her family was her greatest source of happiness and inspiration. Lou had a strong faith throughout her life and was committed to her church family. She loved ringing bells and serving others. She felt fortunate to have two wonderful places to worship, Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Richmond and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Phoenix. Lou's pursuit for helping others and serving her community was her passion. She loved all activities involving her children. Travel, card making, camping and school events had her priority because it was family. Helping and mentoring her children will never be forgotten. Services will be conducted at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Phoenix on a date to be determined.. A service will be held at the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Meckley officiating. Please join us to celebrate the life of Lou. In place of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to any veteran’s association or Tunnels to Towers. She always wanted to make certain that veterans were not forgotten on their birthday and on holidays. Lou touched the lives of many through her kindness, grace, and unwavering love. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
