Lynn Horton Green

RICHMOND, Ind. – Lynn Horton Green, age 60, of Richmond, died Friday, July 8th, 2016, at Reid Health after a courageous battle against a rare neurological disease. Born April 20th, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, to John and Garnell DeLay Horton, Lynn was a 1974 graduate of Richmond High School. She lived in Cicero, Indiana, with her husband, Gary, for most of her life and was a school bus driver for special needs children for the Carmel Clay school system for over 20 years. Lynn was adventurous. She and her mother enjoyed many trips together to places like California, New England, and Las Vegas. She was strong, full of love, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She never complained, no matter what happened in life. She was always willing to give people the benefit of doubt and could see the best in any situation. She fought bravely to the very end of her life and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family who adored her. Lynn is survived by her mother, Garnell, of Richmond, Indiana; father, John(Jean), of Oakhill, Florida; brother, Mike (Jean) Horton of Kokomo, Indiana; three sons, Keith (Deena) of Wingo, Kentucky, Shawn (Amber) of North Providence, Rhode Island, and Chad of Worthington, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Madison, Maci, Evan, Eily, Adalyn, Norah, and Logan; two nieces, Kelly (Matt) McPhail and their children, Olivia and Andrew, of Campbell, California, and Sara (John) Anderson and their daughter, Stella, of Palo Alto, California; one nephew, Chris (Ashley) Horton of Kokomo, Indiana; and a handful of aunts, uncles, and cousins, including one very special cousin, Cheryl Runnels, who helped care for her towards the end of her life. Visitation for Lynn will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11th, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with her son, Shawn Green, officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
