Mable Rose Baker

Mable Dean Rose Baker, 75, of Winchester, Indiana, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 at home with her family gathered around her. Born August 29, 1931, in Somerset, Kentucky to Samuel David and Ida Alice Phelps Rose, she lived in the Richmond, Indiana area since 1950. Mable is a 53 year member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is a member of the Relief Society, and has served in many capacities of leadership in the Church. Survivors include her husband, Noah Baker, Jr., to whom she was married on March 11, 1950; two daughters, Cynthia Alice Redmon and her husband Robert of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Stacey Darice Turner and her husband Dennis of Cincinnati, Ohio; six sons, Noah Dwight Baker, Sr. and his wife Linda of Westminster, South Carolina, Darrell DuWayne Baker, Sr. and his wife Debra of Fountain City, Indiana, Michael Baker, Sr. and his wife Carol of Albany, Indiana, Jeffrey D. Baker, Sr. and his wife Tammie of Williamsburg, Indiana, Eric Baker and his wife Hilda of Winchester, Indiana, and Roderick Jay Baker I and his wife Michelle of Leeds, North Dakota; thirty-seven grandchildren, Noah Dwight Jr., Christy, Stephen, Tomi Marie, Teren, Darrell II, Danielle, Denise, Michael Jr., Stephanie, Joshua, Ryan, Natalie, Keirstyn, Joseph, Megan, Melissa, Jeffrey Jr., Melanie, Adam, Shannon, Emily, Heather, Tiffany, Eric (enlisted in the Air Force), Daniel (serving in the U.S. Air Force), Jonathon, Corinne, Roderick II (Jay), Kassandra, Carley, Amanda, April, Ariel, Dennis (JT), Abigail, and Aleah; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Mable's family legacy continues with three more great-grandchildren arriving soon. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; four sisters; and one grandson, Aaron Nathaniel Baker. Funeral service for Mable D. Baker will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3333 Backmeyer Road, Richmond, IN. Burial will be at the Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, Ind. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Indiana and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
