Margaret Jane Good

RICHMOND, Ind. - Margaret Jane Good, of Richmond, died Monday, November 29, 2010, at her home. She was born May 24 in Richmond to Charles and Mildred Hunt Dove. Jane attended Baxter, Dennis, and graduated from Morton High School. She was a volunteer in the USO program. Jane was hostess/cashier at the Richmond Arms Motel and worked at the Leland Hotel as a waitress, becoming hostess and cashier. She was meter maid for the Richmond Police Department and clerk in the Records Department. Jane volunteered at Reid Memorial Hospital for 32 years, retiring in 2008. Jane was a member of the First Christian Church since Cradle Roll and was very active since age 14 when she started teaching the junior department. She named the Share It With A Friend Home Economics Club. Jane taught Sunday school and was a deaconess. She was a member of the Newlyweds, later the Golden Band Class. Jane bowled on three teams each week. She loved playing cards, playing in a senior group at the Elks and Thursday's at MCL. Jane belonged to an euchre club for over 50 years. She loved to travel with her husband, going to Europe twice, Paris and Rome twice, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Russia and England. Also to Bermuda, Mexico, and to Hawaii 19 times with her daughter, Pat. She never knew a stranger and had a smile for everyone. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Frye (Larry), and Pat Santini; son, Jim Good (Connie); grandchildren, Mark Frye (Kathy), Eric Frye (Laura), and Heather Mathias (Trent), David Santini, Jeff Santini, Allison Good, Shawn Lunsford; great-grandchildren, Connor Frye, Nicholas Frye, and Olive Mathias. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Robert W. Good; sister, Mary Elizabeth Evans; and brother-in-law, Claude T. Evans. Visitation for Margaret Jane Good will be from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 3 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Amanda Hines officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
