Margaret M. Malone

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Margaret Muriel Malone, age 82, of Centerville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Jasper, Indiana, on August 9, 1929, to Perry David and Lelia Hogan (Norton) Booth, she had lived in Centerville, Indiana, most of her life. Margaret graduated from Jasper High School in 1947 and had worked at the Indiana Desk Furniture Co. in Jasper. Margaret retired from the Centerville Public Library after 34 years. During her career, she had assignments as a Research Librarian and also as the Children’s Story Hour Librarian. The Centerville Library named their Genealogy room in her honor. She enjoyed researching and assisting patrons with their genealogy searches. Margaret loved her husband, family, flowers, and animals (especially her dog Gabe). Margaret served with her husband at five congregations for the Church of the Nazarene, in Monrovia, Williamsburg, Centerville, Connersville, and Rushville, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Robert Nathan Malone; daughter, Debra Hamilton and husband Patrick of Columbus, Ohio; son, Major Mark R. Malone and wife Beverly of Fort Knox, Kentucky.; eight grandchildren, Jaclyn Hamilton of Columbus, Ohio, Drew Hamilton of Los Angeles, California, Kathryn Hamilton of St. Petersburg, Florida, Maxwell Malone and his wife Carrie of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Marianne Malone of Bloomington, Indiana, Michelle Malone of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Amber Garcia and her husband Carlos of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Sergeant Amie Arnold of Germany; three great-grandchildren, Greyson, Jesse, and Carleigh; sister, Mildred Mitchell and her husband James of Independence, Missouri; brother-in-law, George W. Haycox of Jasper, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Julia Elizabeth Schnarr and Mary Frances Haycox; and brother, Howard Booth. Visitation for Margaret Muriel Malone will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Lee officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville.
