Merlin Anthony "Tony" Hicks

CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Merlin Anthony “Tony” Hicks, age 49, of Centerville, died Sunday, June 8, at Reid Hospital and Health Care. Born September 27, 1958, in Hazard, Kentucky, to George and Dorothy McDaniel Hicks. Tony was also raised by his Step-Mother Maxine Lawson Hicks, he lived in this area most of his life. Tony was a cook at Jags Restaurant in Centerville for eleven years and the Blue Monkey Restaurant since September. He enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lloyd Hicks, to whom he was married on June 23, 2001 in Centerville; step-daughters, Stephanie Branson and husband Adam of Centerville and Autumn Wilson and husband Tim of Muncie, Ind.; step-son, Rickey Jetters of Dayton, Oh.; three grandchildren, Andrew Branson, Isabella Branson and Timothy Wilson; four sisters, Brenda Polston and husband Mac, Donna Rutherford and husband Keith, Rhonda Eirsman and husband Tom all of Dayton, Oh. and Dana Powell and husband Wayne of Florida; step-sisters, Marta Domineck of Mason Ohio, Sandra Foudray and husband Dave of New Lebonan, Ohio and Barbara Snelling and husband Greg of Mason, Ohio; step-brothers, James Combs and wife Iris of French Lick, Kentucky and Randy Combs of Vandalia, Ohio; mother-in-law, JoAnne Miller and husband Glenn of New Madison, Ohio; father-in-law, Kenneth Lloyd Sr. and wife Marilyn of Midway, Ohio; sister-in-law, Nancy Ross and husband Joe of Greenville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Kenneth Lloyd Jr. of Moraine, Ohio; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; step-mother; brother, George Hicks and step-sister, Peggy Hall. Funeral services for Tony Hicks will be at 2pm Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville, Ind. 47330 with Rev. Douglas Criswell officiating.
