RICHMOND, Ind. – Michelle Elaine Moore, age 58, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, November 29, 2024. Born August 5, 1966, in Winchester, Indiana, to Jack and Cynthia Thompson Schlenker, Michelle lived in Centerville most of her life. She was a 1984 graduate of Monroe Central High School, where she was salutatorian of her class. Michelle received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was the Science Department Head at Centerville High School, retiring after 30 years. Michelle received the ISTAR teaching award several years in her career. She led the Centerville Academic Team to state competition multiple times and was consistently rated as a high-level teacher. Michelle inspired numerous students to pursue undergraduate and graduate level degrees. She lived her life very intentionally, was hardworking, and an adventurous entrepreneur. Michelle enjoyed traveling and spending time with all her children and grandchildren. She was always right there, no matter what the need, although her social calendar was always quite full. Michelle was an amazing chef and often had the best dish at the party. She was happy to share her recipes and never left out any key steps or ingredients. Her children have learned so much from her and aspire to follow her example. Survivors include her mother, Cynthia Burrows; father, Jack Schlenker; children, Heather (Andrew) Johns, Betheny (Ryan) Lewis, Austin Moore, and Allison (Connor) Seavers; fiancé, Brian Hughes; his children, Savannah and Brandon; eight grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Greg (Julia) Schlenker and Steve (Cheryl) Schlenker; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation for Michelle Elaine Moore will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
