Myron C. Hunt

Myron C. Hunt RICHMOND, Ind. – Myron C. Hunt, age 93, of Richmond, died Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Reid Hospital. Born October 18, 1916, in Richmond to Clyde R. and Ethel Bullerdick Hunt, he lived in this community most of his life. Myron was a 1934 graduate of Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Ill., earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, a master’s degree from Texas A & M University, and was a John McMullen scholar at Cornell University. He retired as Facilities Manager in 1981 from Dana Corp. after 41 years. Myron was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and Triangle Engineering Fraternity at Purdue University, former member of Hagerstown Rotary Club, and former member and Board Chairman of Richmond Sanitary District. His passion was traveling worldwide. He loved caring for his woods and bird-watching. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Ruby Coffing Hunt; son, Curtis N. Hunt (Ruth) of Catlin, Ill.; daughters, Sheila H. Nollen (Paul) of Macomb, Ill., Cheryl H. Sheeler of Auburn, Ind., and Pamela H. Rommer of Centerville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; Douglas Hunt (Kelly) of Carleton, Mich., Laura Hunt of Champaign, Ill., Marie Powell (Toby) of Indianapolis, Nathan Nollen (Angie) of Pontiac, Ill, Jennifer Ford of Auburn, Ind., Tad Sheeler of Lake in the Hills, Ill., Ben Sheeler, of Auburn, Ind., Jon Sheeler, of Auburn, Ind., Victoria Rommer of Chicago, Ill., and Christine Rommer of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Gary Sheeler. Visitation for Myron C. Hunt will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at Christ Presbyterian Church, 350 Henley Road, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Stein officiating. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. Doan & Mills Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
