Nick R. Aughe

NEW PARIS, Ohio – Nick R. Aughe, age 80, of New Paris, Ohio, died Monday, April 25, 2016, at Reid Health. Born October 19, 1935, in Richmond, Indiana, to Robert Maish and Mary Alice Skiver Aughe, Nick lived all of his life in this area. He was vice president and controller for IRC&D Motor Freight, Inc. from 1960 to 1981; supervisor for Aid Ambulance/Rural Metro Ambulance from 1981 to 2001; and office manager for Rinehart’s Lawn Care and Landscaping from 2001-2016. Nick was a volunteer for the Centerville Fire Department for more than 15 years and served as Assistant Chief. He was a member of Centerville Christian Church, charter president of the Centerville Jaycees, treasurer of the State Jaycees, JCI Senator and also served as president of the state organization, member of the Centerville Lion’s Club and was a past recipient of the Outstanding Community Service Award, president of the Indiana Accounting and Finance Council of the Indiana Motor Truck Association, chairman of Centerville Archway Days Festival, and was listed in the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1966. Nick was very patriotic and enjoyed all kinds of sports. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Maralee Watson Aughe; children, Robin (Jimmie) James of Richmond, Rhesa (Jeff) Cotham of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Rhonda (Chad) Rinehart of New Paris, and Darin (Angie) Aughe of Centerville, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Sally McMaster of Florida; cousin; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Nick R. Aughe will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Centerville Christian Church, 111 North Morton Avenue, Centerville with Pastor Terry Cochran officiating.
