Patsy Ruth Schultz

RICHMOND, Ind. – Patsy Ruth Schultz, age 74, of Richmond, was called home to Heaven surrounded by her family at her bedside on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Golden Rule Living Center. Born December 28, 1932, in Piqua, Ohio, to John E. and Alberta B. Smith Butts, she was a resident of Richmond since 1967. Pat graduated from Piqua High School in 1950. She married Gene P. Schultz of Troy, Ohio on March 31, 1956 at the First Christian Church in Piqua, Ohio. They resided in Troy, Ohio and Littleton, Colorado prior to moving to Richmond in 1967. Pat retired from Belden Wire and Cable in December of 1992, after eleven years as a secretary. She previously worked for Manpower where she worked for 43 different companies in the Richmond area in various endeavors. She was an avid artist and painter and played the English hand bells at First English Lutheran Church. Pat was a member of First English Lutheran Church and also belonged to Red Devil Pride, Belden Live Wires, Concord Grange (Ohio), Piqua Community Chorus, Professional Secretaries Association, and Salt and Pepper. She also worked many years during the month of May in the gift shop at the Indy 500 while her husband was a USAC/IRL track observer. Survivors include her husband, Gene; two sons, Steven Gene Schultz and his wife Lynette of Holland, Michigan and Scott Alan Schultz of Muscatine, Iowa; daughter, Vanessa Ann Osborne of Greenwood, Indiana; five grandchildren, Julie, Paul, and Abigail of Holland, Michigan and Chelsea and Christopher of Greenwood, Indiana; brother and sister-in-laws, Dan and Alice Rasor of Dayton, Ohio and Roger Schultz and Evelyn of Vevay, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews including Jeff Butts and family, Marc Rasor and family, Matt Rasor and family, Eric Schultz and family, and Johnny Butts and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Butts. Funeral service for Patsy Ruth Schultz will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 National Road East, Richmond with Rev. John Walker and Rev. Brian Derrer officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at Riverside Cemetery, in Troy, Ohio. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
