Rev. Bob Keith Anderson

RICHMOND, Ind. – Rev. Bob Keith Anderson, age 89, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living. Born November 8, 1927, in Greentown, Indiana, to Floyd M. and Mabel Higbee Anderson, Bob was a resident of Richmond since 2003. He graduated from Sheridan High School, attended Marion College - now Indiana Wesleyan University and Frankfort Bible College. Bob was in the U.S. Coast Guard during W.W. II. He was an ordained elder with The Wesleyan Church, Indiana Central District in 1961. Bob served as pastor of Eagle Town Friends Church, Thorntown Wesleyan Church, Gas City Eastview Wesleyan Church, and Eastlawn Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. He also served as associate pastor of Anderson Memorial Wesleyan Church and Fountain City Wesleyan Church. Bob served as secretary for 13 years of the Indiana Central District Board of Administration and was delegate to The Wesleyan General Conference six times. He was a member of Fountain City Wesleyan Church where he was known as “Father” Bob. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia Ruth Miller Anderson; daughter, Rebecca L. (Bill) Rose of Olathe, Kansas; son, David Keith (Jill) Anderson of Williamsburg, Indiana; grandchildren, Devin Rose, Gretchen Anderson, Christopher Rose, M.D., Kirsten Anderson, Eric Rose, and Jennifer Rose, J.D.; great-grandchildren, Eva, Israel, Annabell, Eleanor, Bralin, and Elisha Rose; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances Quick; and brother, Ted E. Anderson. Visitation for Rev. Bob Keith Anderson will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Fountain City Wesleyan Church, 5600 North U.S. 27, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Fountain City Wesleyan Church with Rev. David Anderson, Rev. Bill Rose, and Dr. Mark Gorveatte officiating. Burial will be in Crown View Cemetery, Sheridan, Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
