Ron W. Robinson

FOUNTAIN CITY, Ind. – Ron W. Robinson, age 54, of Fountain City, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Reid Hospital. Born June 11, 1957, in Richmond to James L. and Shirley McFarland Robinson, he was a life-long resident of this area. Ron was a 1975 graduate of Richmond High School. He was Director of Buildings and Grounds for Richmond Community Schools, where he worked since 1980 when he was hired as a maintenance worker at the central office. Ron managed all functions of the buildings and grounds for RCS. He oversaw construction projects, building renovations, and the maintenance and janitorial staff. Ron was certified in many areas, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and asbestos removal. He was very talented in making repairs and enjoyed using his skills in helping others. First and foremost, Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, IU Basketball, NASCAR (Jeff Gordon), riding his Harley, and farming. Survivors include his wife, Debbie LaGere Robinson, to whom he was married in 2005; his mother; children, Camille Robinson of Anderson, Indiana, Candice Robinson of Winchester, and Shawn (Amy) Dixon of Fountain City; grandchildren, Leona Robinson, Maddie Dixon, and Abby Dixon; uncle, Gene (Stella) Rush; aunt, Pauline McFarland; nieces, Corrie (Matt) Fox and Allison Jack; nephew, Robbie Jack; cousins; first wife, Rita Robinson of Richmond; brother-in-law, Steve Jack; and many friends including special friends, John Hamilton, Mike Schwab, and Sherry Robertson; his two dogs, Francis Lily and Paige Elizabeth; and grand-dog, Loretta Lynn. He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Jones; his father; sisters, Deborah K. Wright and Kathleen L. Jack; aunt and uncle, Paul and Francis Craft; and his beloved beagle, Richard AKA “Dick”. Visitation for Ron W. Robinson will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor David Anderson officiating.
