Spc. Tyler Christian White

RICHMOND, Ind. – Spc. Tyler Christian White, age 21, of Richmond, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Born November 14, 1994, in Oxford, Ohio, to Andrew K. and Jennifer Lynn Hill White, Tyler lived most of his life in Richmond. He worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken during high school and was a 2013 graduate of Richmond High School. Tyler then enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed boot camp at Fort Benning, Georgia. He proudly chose the Cavalry and was stationed in Alaska at Fort Wainwright with a Stryker unit. Tyler enjoyed playing paintball. His family meant the world to him, but while stationed away from home, he had a special way of making several families 'adopt' him as one of their own. Survivors include his parents; sister, Brittney Rose White of Richmond; brother, Matthew Alexander White of Richmond; maternal grandparents, Randall Paul and Trudy Ann Moyers Hill of Richmond; maternal great-grandparents, Hobert (a WW II veteran) and Lucille Coffey Hill of Richmond; aunts, Sarah Thalls of Richmond, Catherine (Ian) Roberts of Florida, Lora (Joe) Snyder of Liberty, Indiana, and Christy White of Lynn, Indiana; great-aunts; great-uncles; great-great-aunts; great-great-uncle; cousins, Savannah, Shari, Thomas, Josh, Jake, Anthony, Grant, Garrett, and Alec; many friends, including Patrick McDowell, Johnny Kelly, Andrew Schoener, and Keith Webb; and his best friend, James (Ashleigh) Stouffer and their daughter, Juliette Stouffer, who was his god-daughter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul Edmond White and S. Margaret Titus White, and uncle, Paul R. White. Visitation for Spc. Tyler Christian White will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond and also from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery with military honors.
