William Harold Neeriemer

RICHMOND, Ind. – William Harold Neeriemer, age 94, of Richmond, became absent from his body on Saturday, April 11, 2015, and is now at home with the Lord. Born February 8, 1921, in Odon, Indiana, to William B. and Ethel I. Crooke Neeriemer, he was a resident of Richmond since 1995 having moved from Lakeland, Florida. William attended school in Elnora, Indiana, and Vincennes, Indiana, and graduated from high school in 1939 at Greenfield, Indiana. He attended Johnson Bible College and received a BA from Butler University in Indianapolis in 1944, a BD in 1947, and an MA in 1948. William attended the University of Chicago for additional graduate work. His pastorates in Indiana were in Fountaintown, Van Buren, Hobart, Salem and Logansport. In Florida, William ministered at Cape Coral and Miami. In Georgia, he ministered in Lawrenceville and Winder. He was a member of Theta Phi (religious honorary) and Sigma Nu Fraternity. William was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. His biography is contained in Who’s Who in the Midwest Volume 9, and Personalities of the South 1972. William received the Honored Minister’s Pin from the Pension Fund of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He was a member of the Centerville Christian Church. William enjoyed photography, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by three children, William R. (Geneva) Neeriemer of Ashville, North Carolina, Jean (Ned) Cates of Richmond, and David A. Neeriemer of Lincoln, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lara (Jeff) Luebbe, Christian (Mandy) Neeriemer, Gabriel (Holly) Neeriemer, William (Allyson) Neeriemer, Ann Neeriemer, Beniah Neeriemer, Abigail Neeriemer, and Jethro Neeriemer; nine great-grandchildren; and niece, Laura Kirk. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Bessie Stinson Neeriemer, who died May 6, 1997; parents; and brother, Dean H. Neeriemer. Memorial Service for William Harold Neeriemer will at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Centerville Christian Church, 111 North Morton Street, Centerville.
