Annadell Sparks Ebbinghouse

RICHMOND, Ind. – Annadell Sparks Ebbinghouse, age 94, of Richmond, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at her residence. Anne was born on March 1, 1922, in Carroll County, Indiana, to Glen and Montes Nice Sparks. She graduated from Cutler High School in 1940 and the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1943. Anne worked as a nurse in Robert Long Hospital at the Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. After Anne’s youngest son was in high school, she joined her husband, Dr. Tom H. Ebbinghouse, in his medical practice in Richmond, Indiana for twenty-seven years. Anne loved gardening, bridge, reading and being with her family and friends. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, the Literary Club, the Rose City Investment Club, Central United Methodist Church, and other community organizations. Survivors include sons, David (Marilyn) Ebbinghouse of Bloomington, Indiana, Richard Ebbinghouse of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Tom S. (Jennifer) Ebbinghouse of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandsons, Tyler, Connor, Adam, and Alexander; brother, Richard (Ellie) Sparks of Bradenton, Florida; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Tom H. Ebbinghouse, M.D.; parents; and daughter-in-law, Evie Ebbinghouse. The family would like to thank the physicians and caregivers who so lovingly helped her in her later years of life as well as Reid Hospice, who gave her such loving care. Visitation for Annadell S. Ebbinghouse will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Central United Methodist Church, 1425 East Main Street, with Pastor Tom Ream officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
