Chester Clay "Fuzzy" Moore

WEBSTER, Ind. – Chester Clay “Fuzzy” Moore age 78, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, after an extended illness surrounded by his loving family. Born March 25, 1929, in Palmer, Kentucky to Wilbert “Tadger” and Florence Hunter Moores, he moved to Richmond in 1941. Fuzzy was owner/operator of Moore’s Gas Company for 51 years which his children and family helped operate. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Fuzzy was an avid thoroughbred racehorse trainer and owner. He was a member of the Richmond Moose Lodge and former member of American Legion Post 65 and the VFW. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, entertaining friends and family. Fuzzy is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Josephine Wise Moore; children, Brad Moore, Randy Moore, Mike Moores and his wife, Shelley, and Laura Maddox and her husband, Rick, all of Webster; grandchildren, Jacque Bruner and her husband, Tim of Kentucky, Crystal Goodwin of Richmond, Jeni “JenBuck” Fellers of Indianapolis, Ricky Maddox of Webster, Kolby “Kolby John” Moores of Centerville and Kami Moores of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Madilyn Bruner, Dezirae Dancer, Mason Moores, and Lilly Ferman; brother, Joe Moore and his wife, Mary of Richmond; cousins, including, Arlace Moore, a lifetime friend and as close as a brother, Freddie Moores and Betty Boswell; special brothers-in-law, Richard Wise of West Virginia and Kenny Baker and his wife, Edith of Richmond; nieces and nephews, including Dale Carter of Eaton, Ohio, Ronnie Moore of Richmond, David Moore of Williamsburg, Jackson Moore of California and Terry Yates of California; and so many more friends, too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Bradberry Moore; parents; brother Linville “Bluey” Moore and his wife Pinie Moore; sisters, Geraldine Schlechty, Germania Carter and Christine Chenowith-Brown; niece, Joan “Gernie” Moore; nephew, Jim Moore and great-nephew, Terry Carter. Funeral service for Chester Clay “Fuzzy” Moore will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 13, 2008, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, Indiana, with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
