Edward P. Genutis

RICHMOND, Ind. – Edward P. Genutis, age 99, of Richmond, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Friends Fellowship Community with his twin daughters at his side. In Ed’s 100 years, he was born March 8, 1910, in Lithuania, to Martin and Maria Genutis, educated in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, and lived in Richmond for over 60 years. Ed retired after 39 years at ALCOA as a photolithographer. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, ALCOA 25 Year Club, and Lithographer Club of Cincinnati. Ed was a former member and Stephen Minister at St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, tennis and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Marilyn Jane Brunton and her husband Mark of Richmond and Carolyn Mae Mills and her husband James of Richmond; sons, Allen Edward Genutis and his wife Sylvia of Pennsylvania and Thomas Dale Genutis and his wife Betty of South Carolina; grandchildren, David Stringfield of Minnesota, Kristi Nelson of California, Mathew Brunton of Alaska, Sara Genutis of Iowa, and Mary Genutis of South Carolina; one great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; brother, Walter Genutis and his wife Ruth of Ohio; sister, Alma France of Ohio; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Emma Marie Reisch Genutis, who died in 1984; grandson, Thomas Edward Genutis; two brothers, Gus and Art Genutis; and two sisters, Lida Healey and Martha Jones. Visitation for Edward P. Genutis will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 National Road East, Richmond with Pastor John R. Walker officiating. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery.
