Helen C. Hert

RICHMOND, Ind. – Helen C. Hert, age 93, of Richmond, Indiana, passed into the Lord’s arms Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Reid Health. Born December 29, 1930, in Middletown, PA., to John Lloyd and Nell Kramer, Helen met her husband, Dick, while he was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. They married on September 15, 1951, and moved to Richmond, Indiana in the 1950’s where they raised their three children. She was a homemaker and took on the role of running the house while her husband, Dick, was often on the road in sales. Helen worked at Charles Elementary and was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority. She enjoyed tennis and golf, having belonged to Forest Hills Country Club. Helen loved and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ and His assurance of salvation and enjoyed 10 years of Bible Study Fellowship. The family were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Centerville Christian Church. Helen was cared for by Friends Fellowship Community, leaving behind many friends and dedicated caretakers made over the years. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Richard “Dick” Hert; children, Pamela (Lyle) Richert, Charles (Angie) Hert, and John Hert; grandchildren, Shae (Evan) Zimmerman, Jessica (Michael) Jarvis, Chad (Colleen) Hert and Brock Richert; nine Great grandchildren; late nephew’s wife, Debbie Hert; nephew Terry (Lori) Seiders; and five great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy (Emmanuel June, also deceased) Seiders; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Robert & Mickey Hert; niece, Becky (Chuck, also deceased) Low; and nephew, Mike Hert. Visitation for Helen C. Hert will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Earlham Memorial Mausoleum.
