Larinda Lou Sheffer

RICHMOND, Ind. – Larinda Lou Sheffer, age 55, of Richmond, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Reid Health. Born August 29, 1961, in New Castle, Indiana, to Ronald L. and Lucille F. Bane Coddington, Larinda was a long-time resident of Wayne County. She was a 1979 graduate of Northeastern High School. Larinda was a manager at Trinity Christian Gifts and Books and worked at Trucks and Parts in New Paris, Ohio, and Office Functions in Richmond. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Larinda was a Sunday School teacher and youth leader for several churches. She enjoyed jeep riding and camping. The joy of her life was her grandchildren. Larinda had a caregiver's heart and extended that to family and friends. She was a Crusader for Christ, who loved the Lord and served him faithfully. Survivors include her husband, Robert Drew Sheffer, to whom she was married on November 16, 1978; son, Brandon Michael Sheffer of Centerville, Indiana; grandchildren, Seth A. Sheffer, Shelby Q. Sheffer, Gwyneth E. Sheffer, and Hayden I. Sheffer; mother, Lucille F. Coddington of Richmond; sisters and brothers, Sylvia A. (Rick) Blunk of Richmond, Roni D. (Diana) Coddington of Richmond, Leasa F. Powell of Richmond, Keith W. Coddington of Pendleton, Indiana, Barbara J. (Dennis) Eaton of Fountain City, Indiana, Laura A. (Chad) Olmsted of Richmond, and Linda S. (John) Johnson of Brownsville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins; and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Max Coddington. Visitation for Larinda Lou Sheffer will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastors Joel McIntyre, Jim Matson, and Tom Triggs officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Greens Fork, Indiana.
