Louis E. "Lou" Miller

RICHMOND, Ind. – Louis E. “Lou” Miller, age 81, of Richmond, died Monday, December 1, 2014, at Golden Living Center/Golden Rule. Born June 11, 1933, in Rush County, Indiana, to Harold and Virgiline Buckley Miller, Lou had lived in this area since 1966. He served in the United States Air Force from 1949-1952. Lou was a truck driver for Wayne Dairy retiring in 1994 after 22 years of service. He had also driven a bus for Centerville Schools. Lou had also worked for Winandy Greenhouse and Belden. He was a member of Hodgin Road Christian Church and a former board member of the Centerville Youth League. Lou volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years and coached little league baseball. He enjoyed art, working on puzzles, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. Survivors include his wife, Violet Fern “Vi” Harper Miller to whom he was married on May 1, 1955; daughters, Teresea Lee Bodiker of Richmond, Tonya Lynn Revalee of Richmond, Mary Lou Smolik of Centerville, and Kimberly Dawn Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana; son, Louis E. “Eddie” (Jenncy) Miller II; 12 grandchildren; l5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcia (Glenn) Swift of Franklin, Indiana, Doris (Joe) Sanders of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Joyce Neeb of Minnesota; brother, Floyd Neeb of Shelbyville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Myron Miller; step-father, Kenneth Neeb; and a great-grandchild. Visitation for Louis E. “Lou” Miller will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, with visitation to be held an hour prior to the service at Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Trenum officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
