Maurice E. "Mose" Bane

GREENS FORK, Ind. – Maurice E. “Mose” Bane, age 85, of Greens Fork, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Ambassador Healthcare. Born July 25, 1928, in Wayne County, to Charles and Sylvia Tillson Bane, he was a life-long resident of this area. Maurice was a 1946 graduate of Greens Fork High School. He formerly served as Greens Fork Town Marshall and on the Greens Fork Volunteer Fire Department. Maurice worked with his father and grandfather in construction. He also worked in farming, at Perfect Circle, delivered for Omar Bakeries, and owned and operated Bane Sunoco in Greens Fork. Maurice retired from Fowler Vending in Cambridge City. He was a member of Greens Fork United Methodist Church and the Clay Township Historical Society. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Caudle Bane, to whom he was married October 3, 1947; daughters, Jennifer L. (Bob) Covington of Centerville, Rebecca L. Farmer and Judith C. Farmer, both of Greens Fork; sons, Daniel J. (Denise) Bane of Richmond, M. Randy (Evelyn) Bane of Frankfort, Indiana, Thomas K. (Keely) Bane and Curtis S. (Lizann) Bane, both of Greens Fork; 19 grandchildren, Dana (Ron) Younger, Robin (Scott) Clark, Bobbi (Mike) Rhoades, Jamie (Scott) Runyon, Hunter (Stacy) Covington, Joshua Farmer, Jeremy (Brandi) Farmer, Kimberly (Dominic) Bartolini, Brian (Melissa) Farmer, Jason (Peggy) Farmer, Torey (Christopher) Cook, Ty Bane, Travis (Samantha) Bane, Dustin Bane, Dylan Bane, April Bane, Matthew (Kellie) Bane, Ryan ( Lisa) Bane, and Michael Bane; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Barnett and Christina Taylor; 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Harris, Rosalee (Claude) Caudle, Juanita (Stan) Carter, Lucille (Ronald) Coddington, Karen (Ed) Miller, Marjorie McMullen, Delores George, Linda (Bob Hall) Bane, and Kathy (Gary) Adamson; brothers, Gerald (Cornelia) Bane, Kenneth (Pat) Bane, and Charlie (Ruth) Bane; brother-in-law, Roy Caudle; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marcia Campbell; son-in-law, Ron Farmer; brothers-in-law, Reide Harris, Reggie McMullen, Paul George, and Earl Caudle; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bane, Mary McCracken, Launa Ward, Willie Westerfield, and Barbara Howell; and best buddy of 14 years, his dog, George. Visitation for Maurice E. Bane will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home with Wendy Canon officiating.
