Myral Louise Jackson

CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Myral Louise Jackson, age 95, of Centerville, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Reid Hospital. Born July 13, 1916, in Richmond, to Charles and Martha Williams Kauffman, she was a life-long resident of this area. Myral attended Abington School through the 8th grade and graduated from Centerville High School in 1934. She was a 1938 graduate of Reid Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Reid Hospital, the Wayne County Health Department, and in private duty care. Myral was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where her grandfather was a founding member and where she served as a Sunday School teacher and participated in the Fun Bunch. She was also a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and the Bridge Club of Centerville. Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela Louise (Alan) Stewart of Vincennes, Indiana, and Marla Sue (Dan) Murphy of Zionsville, Indiana; son, Jay (Mondie) Jackson of Centerville; eleven grandchildren, Elisabeth Robertson, Christopher Stewart, Melissa Knutson, Jonathan Stewart, Rebekah Stewart, Zachary Stewart, Sean Murphy, Rachael MacFarland, Stephanie Irwin, Timothy Murphy, and Patrick Murphy; sister, Dorothy Pegg of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley B. Jackson, who died July 2, 2003, and three siblings, Robert Kauffman, Elizabeth Kinert, and Margaret Zimmerman. Visitation for Myral Louise Jackson will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at First English Lutheran Church with Pastor John R. Walker and Pastor Brian Derrer officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville.
