CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Rebecca Jane Garvin, age 68, of Centerville, Indiana, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, unexpectedly at Reid Health. Born July 31, 1948, in New Castle, Indiana, to George O. Bertram Sr. and Ernestine Hoover Bertram, Rebecca was a life-long resident of Wayne County. She loved life to the fullest. Rebecca’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her life. She was a special person, triplet, and friend to everyone she met. Rebecca loved everyone she met and they loved her. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and her koi pond. Rebecca loved spending time with her family. She will be missed more than words can say by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Ronald Dean Garvin, to whom she was married on September 21, 1985; children, Melissa Helms of Centerville, Indiana, Kevin (Amy) Booth of Avon, Indiana, Montell Shinn of Centerville, Indiana, Dudley Garvin, Tony (Carolyn) Garvin, and Misha (Joe) Spencer; grandchildren, Austin, Brock, and Cameran Helms, Paige Burchett, Andrew Shinn, Shana Pardo, Nora McCrackin, Marlene Smith, Drew Ganu, Tara Allison, Kanisha Jacobs, Cory, Dustin, and Brandon Garvin, Andrea and Daniel Hayes, and Max and Mazzy Booth; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rosemma (Phillip) Anderson, Jerry (Marcia) Bertram, David (Nita) Bertram, Phyllis (Brian) Garry, triplet sister, Roberta (Rex) Hensley, and triplet brother, Robert Bertram; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many friends including special friends, Mary Robertson and Jeanne Van Sickle. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda Taylor; sisters, Iona Brown and Elle Mae Bertram; and brother, George Bertram Jr. Visitation for Rebecca Jane Garvin will be from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Mills Funeral Home with Rev. John Maples officiating.
