Ruby E. Turner Cross

RICHMOND, Ind. – Ruby E. Turner Cross, age 91, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Reid Health. Born April 12, 1926, in Hamilton, Ohio, to George H. and Callie Smith Neeley, Ruby had lived most of her life in the Richmond area. She retired from the Belden Corporation and was a proud member of the Belden 25 Year Club. Ruby was a member of the First Church of God. She was married to George H. Turner until his death in 1975. Ruby was married to Vaughn Cross until his death on November 18, 2006. She loved the outdoors. Ruby enjoyed working with her flowers, feeding the birds, and taking long daily walks. However, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and neighbors. Survivors include her son, Dean (Sandy) Turner of Richmond; grandsons, Greg (Rhonda) Turner of Zionsville, Indiana, and Scott (Sarah) Turner of Westfield, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Alex, Sophie, Vivi, Luke, and Eli Turner; step-grandchildren, Jeremy (Kari) Reynolds and Susan Reynolds, both of Fountain City, Indiana, and Sara (Mark) Strate of Richmond; step-great-grandchildren, Nate and Alex Reynolds and Emma and Noah Strate; sister, Shirley Clark Benton of Richmond; niece, Sue Firth of Richmond; great-nieces; great-nephew; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; sister, Edna Bane; nephews, Ronnie, Larry, and David Bane; and brothers-in-law, Jeff Bane, Paul Clark, and Chris Benton. The family would like to thank the staff of The Springs for their dedication, kindness, and care and also Dr. Heather Riggs and Reid Health for their care and support. Visitation for Ruby E. Turner Cross will be from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Register officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
